With extensive land areas and complex natural conditions, China boasts a rich diversity of wild plant species, which includes beautiful plants for foliage, ornamental flowers , fruit colors, both climbing and free standing. On the basis of a full investigation wild plants resources, the author has chosen the most valuable species for the purpose of enriching garden flora by home cultivation, and to meet the needs of people's spirit and cultural life. This is the essential purpose of the author. All the species selected will be presented in three volumes and total 1000 special ornamental wild plants of China. In addition to the species collected in the first volume, this second volume presents 3 5 6 wild plants, including pteridophytes 29 species, gymnosperms 9 species, angiospermous 318 species that lie mainly in East and also Northeast and Southwest China. Like the first volume, pteridophytes are arranged according to Qin Renchang's system of classification, gymnosperms are arranged according to Zheng Wanjun's system and angiospermous according to Hutchinsons system. For each plant, its Latin name, family name, morphological description, natural distribution and habitat, means of propagation, merits and use in horticulture are given accompanied by 1-2 color photographs. References and an index of Latin names are appended. Finally, 1 take the opportunity to thank Professor Feng Guomei for his instruction and warm hearted encouragement.
