The more than two hundred sets matchbox covers selected here come from the collection of Ji Zhiguang, a famous Chinese collector of thousands an of matchbox covers. Although most of the covers concern the People's Republic of China, they also include some rare examples made before the founding of New China. Depicted on. the covers we find ancient and modem Chinese figures, China's mountains, rivers, flow- birds, animals, literature and art works, arid sports. This album therefore presents an overview of important information about China and serves as a reference for collectors of Chinese matchbox covers at home and abroad.
